The Greatest Scam in History There are literally thousands of new scams that arise each day. Most of them are easily identifiable, others are not. However, the biggest scam in history is one that still goes on today. It is known as ?global warming?. Back in the 1990?s, some scientists manipulated long-term scientific data to create the allusion of global warming. Other scientists, in efforts to save their rapidly increasing unemployment rate, quickly joined other scientists in the global warming scheme to broaden and enhance ?research?. Their claims caused frightened members of the government to lend huge research grants. The movement kept growing and rapidly gained popularity and media attention, making it the biggest scam of all time. Environmental extremists, notable politicians among them then teamed up with movie, media, and other liberal, environmentalists to create this wild ?scientific? scenario of threatening consequences that would come from global warming. People were quick to ask the question ?What can we do to prevent it Scientists quickly came up with some radical agenda that would bring more funding into their fields of study and perpetuate the myth of global warming. Their ?research?, that was quickly accepted as fact, became the central topic for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers, and in many cases, environmentally conscious citizens. The topic of global warming sometimes even eclipsed that of the wars going on overseas. The scientists? blame for global warming is excess pollution which substantially intensifies the greenhouse effect and, in turn, causes a rapid increase in temperature. It is claimed that this increase in temperature would destroy agriculture, melt the icecaps, flood the coastlines, and end life as we know it. That is, of course, unless you invest money in research for global warming. This is when business owners discovered that they could also benefit from the scheme of global warming and become much more profitable. The businesses called this change ?going green?. Going green has actually been around a little bit longer than the myth of global warming; but at the time it wasn?t called going green. It started in the 1980?s when American vehicle manufacturers were losing a lot of their sales to Japanese imports because they were more dependable and got better gas mileage. GM and Ford quickly claimed that they were working on a car called a hybrid that could operate in the absence of gasoline. In fact, the first American car to boast its great gas mileage was the Ford Aerostar. That was in the 1980?s and Ford promised to have a hybrid car by the year 2000. After the scam of global warming was introduced the car companies also applied for government funding to find the solution to the gas-powered car. Government poured funds far and wide to find solutions. Then other companies started to do the same. Food industries make their bags of recycled plastics, grocery bags are now made of biodegradable materials, and even cleaning companies are going green by putting less harmful chemicals in their products. This enormously increases profits for these companies because of the big scare of global warming. Scientists today are still conducting research on global warming. They know that if they do research and their results are in no way alarming, their research will just gather dust on the shelf. On the other hand, when they do research that sounds alarms, they will become well known and respected and receive scholarly awards. Most importantly though, more research dollars will come their way. There are greater amounts of evidence supporting global cooling and global homeostasis than there is to support global warming. This research typically doesn?t get published and will sit somewhere on a lab shelf. Our planet is not in peril. It is all a scam. It is the result of bad science. There are plenty of scientists, many of them with PhD?s, who admit that global warming is all a scam. These products are available through vending machines which are located all over schools (Lawrence). Added sugars increase the risk of a child becoming obese or getting type 2 diabetes. In addition to this, fast foods contain excessive amounts of fats, sugars and cholesterol; all which are associated with obesity and heart problems. Fast foods are also known to be prepared from saturated oils that are mostly reused over a period of days thus making them vulnerable to bacteria. The overconsumption of soft drinks has also increased markedly thus further contributing to the unhealthy eating habits of high school students. This is because high consumption of soft drinks has a dilutional effect on childrens essential micronutrient intake. Soft drinks are widely accessible to school children with many school districts having contracts with soft drink companies to promote the sale of soft drinks in schools. An important consideration in early education is that children in elementary school will in most cases fail to understand the implication of abstract concepts such as nutritional content of food. Focus should therefore be put in actual experiences of increased exposure to the healthy foods. This paper set out to describe the nutrient intake and food choices associated with children and adolescents so as to highlight that majority of youths do not consume proper diets. It has been observed that the school environment encouraged poor dietary habits amongst children and adolescents. Considering the long term nutrition and health consequences of poor dietary choices among children and adolescents, this paper has proposed solutions to rectify the issue. The paper has reaffirm ed the notion that schools are in a position to promote healthy dietary behavior by children and adolescents. If thatââ¬â¢s not alarming, research is saying that teenagers who frequently binge drink, are more likely to use drugs like cocaine and have sex with six or more partners and receive very poor grades at school. Good morning / afternoon and fellow students, Iââ¬â¢m here today to convince you that alcohol consumption amongst teenagers should be reduced in order to eliminate serious injuries and deaths, reduce unsafe sexual activity and violent behaviour particularly in male teens. Despite being educated about alcohol consumption, binge drinking amongst teenagers is increasing at an alarming rate. Statistics show that teenagers who drink alcohol will take risks and put themselves in dangerous situations. As a result, more than sixty teenagers are hospitalised each weekend in Australia from alcohol related injuries. In the short term binge drinking can cause harm such as vomiting, hangovers and alcohol poisoning; however over a long period of time it may lead to more serious health issues such as alcohol dependence, brain and liver damage. Did you know the human brain is not fully developed until we reach the age of 25? What many of you donââ¬â¢t understand is that at this age, your brain is still forming critical parts needed for learning, memory, planning, emotional stability and thinking. Teenage binge drinking prevents the brain from developing properly and can cause permanent damage. In addition to the health risks, drinking alcohol impairs your judgement and the ability to make correct or safe decisions. Recent studies show there is a link between teenage drinking and high risk sexual activity. For example, teenagers who drink alcohol are more likely to have multiple sexual partners and unprotected sex, resulting in unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. A recent survey also showed that approximately 10 percent of female high school students had reported being raped. Plain and simple, alcohol alters your ability to think clearly. A study conducted in Great Britain revealed that: After drinking alcohol, one in seven 16-to-24-year-olds have had unprotected sex, while one in five have had sex that they regretted and one in 10 said they had been unable to remember if they had sex the night before. Do you want to be one of these statistics? When young males tend to drink some start to become violent and aggressive and try to create fights. The worst case scenario is someone getting killed. Aggressive, delinquent behaviours, especially amongst male teenagers often result in hospitalisation. Assaults such as king hits, glassings, stabbings and physical abuse are on the increase. Recently on a Saturday night, St Vincents hospital in Sydney recorded no less than 65 people being admitted with bloodied faces, teenagers passed out on stretchers and many innocent victims of alcohol fuelled violence. Seriously, could you live with yourself knowing you had injured a good friend? I know I couldnââ¬â¢t. Underage drinking, even so-called light drinking is dangerous, illegal, and must not be tolerated. Everyone including parents, schools, sporting clubs and anywhere young people gather should work together to deliver the message that underage drinking is not OK. Teens that drink alcohol run the risk of being seriously injured, they engage in unsafe sexual practices and boys can become extremely violent. I urge you not to binge drink.

In The Club, friendship and loyalty are forgotten. The characters in this play sneak around behind each otherââ¬â¢s backs, trying to achieve one thing; they are trying to hold onto their position. They want to replace some members of the Club so that they can start a new and better club, without the interference of ââ¬Å"busy-bodyââ¬â¢sâ⬠. Although Laurie shows loyalty to his team, and Ted shows loyalty to the club, Jock and Gerry are continually stabbing Laurie and Ted in the back. Gerry, the career administrator, seems to be on everybodyââ¬â¢s side but he is actually the one who makes the bullets for all the other bunnies to fire. Ted, the Club president, means well but canââ¬â¢t help sticking his nose into other peopleââ¬â¢s business. Geoff is the new recruit and could not care less about the game of football. Laurie is the coach of the team and as they are not doing the best, he finds out that at the end of the play that he is going to be sacked. Danny is the captain and long-time club champion of the team. He too is about to get the axe after years of charitable service. And then there is Jock, who is an interfering ex-president. Gerry leaves Laurie, leaving him thinking that he is safe and that Ted will go. The second quote shows Ted and Gerry talking. Ted tells Gerry that he does not want Laurieââ¬â¢s contract renewed at the end of the year. Gerry agrees with Ted by saying that he will try not to renew it, only after he told Laurie that Ted was going to have to resign. By now, Gerry has convinced Laurie that Ted will be quitting the club.
